What We Do

The Effingham County Communications Officers answer 911 calls and non-emergency calls for all Effingham County communities surrounding the city of Effingham.  The Communications Officers are responsible for dispatching the Effingham County Sheriff Deputies, Altamont Police Department and Teutopolis Police Department.   They also dispatch the eight rural fire departments in the county; Altamont, Beecher City, Dieterich, Edgewood, Mason, Shumway, Teutopolis and Watson.   The Communication Officers dispatch emergency medical calls to Effingham City-County Ambulance and Altamont Ambulance.
